On Friday evening Carolyn O’Hara gave a fascinating talk about her book OCULEUS
The book is based on columns from The Ayrshire Post written by OCULEUS, the pen name of the managing editor at the time, William Gilmour Wallace her great grandfather. It gives a glimpse of what life was like in Ayr in 1898; complaints about the state of the roads and other social history events. Although we have made great technological advances, some aspects of life have not changed much since Victorian days!
